times"

How can I save myself from the hellfire?

Holy Prophet (saws) Replied, "Protect your eyes and your
tongue and your hands and what is below your waistline against evil"

How can I cleanse myself from my sins?

Holy Prophet (saws) Replied, "Shed tears for what you
have done and repent by undoing what you have done wrong"

I wish to be a respectable person?

Holy Prophet (saws) Replied, "Then, don't ask for anything from
anybody"

I wish to be honorable?

tortures of the grave?

Holy Prophet (saws) Replied, "Recite the Surah Mulk"

What should one do to be rich?

How should I calm my fear of the day of last judgment?

Holy Prophet (saws) Replied, "Remember Allah before you eat
anything and before you sleep"

What should I do to feel the presence of Allah when
I make my prayers?

Surah: Ikhlaas 1/3rd virtue of Qur'an

Bismillah Hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu

Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 61 :: Hadith 534
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: [may Allah be pleased with him]
The Prophet said to his companions, "Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur'an in one night?" This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, "Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah's Apostle?" Allah Apostle replied: " Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.' (Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1--to the End) is equal to one third of the Qur'an."

Smoking invalidates FAST

Some people say that fasting is not invalidated by smoking; because it is not food or drink. What is your opinion about this?.

Praise be to Allaah.
I think that this is a view for which there is no basis. Rather smoking is a kind of drinking; in Arabic they say that one “drinks” a cigarette. Moreover, there is no doubt that it reaches the stomach and the inside of the body, and everything that reaches the stomach and the inside of the body invalidates the fast, whether it is beneficial or harmful, even if a person were to swallow a bead from the masbahah, or a piece of iron, or anything else, it invalidates the fast. So it is not essential that the thing that invalidates the fast, or that is eaten or drunk, should be nourishing or beneficial. Everything that reaches the stomach is regarded as food or drink. They believe – indeed they know – that this is a kind of drink, and if anyone says this then he is being arrogant.
Moreover, I think that the month of Ramadaan is an opportunity for the one who is sincerely resolved and wants to give up this foul, harmful habit of smoking. I think that it is an opportunity because he is going to abstain from it throughout the day in Ramadaan, and at night he can distract himself from it by means of the food and drink that Allaah has permitted to him, and by frequenting the mosques and attending gatherings of righteous people, and he can keep away from those who have this habit. If he abstains from it throughout the month, then that will be a great help to him in giving it up for the rest of his life. This is an opportunity which smokers should not miss. End quote.
And ALLAH knows the Best

An Obligation & Two Honest People

Abu Hurayrah radhiallahu `anhu has said that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam mentioned a man of the Bani Israel saying:
He asked another to lend him a thousand dinars. The lender asked him to bring witnesses but the borrower said, "Allah is sufficient as a witness." The lender asked him to furnish a surety but the borrower again asserted, "Allah is sufficient as a surety." The lender agreed, "You are correct," and lent him money for a specified period.
The debtor went across the sea. When he had finished his work, he looked for a conveyance to take him back for the punctual repayment of his debt, but he did not find any conveyance. So he took a piece of wood and made a hole in it. He inserted in it the one thousand dinars and a letter to the lender and closed the hole tightly.
He took the piece of wood to the sea and said, "O Allah! You know well that I took a loan of one thousand dinars from so-and-so. He demanded a surety from me but I told him that Allah's surety was enough and he accepted Your Guarantee. He then demanded a witness and I told him that Allah was sufficient as a witness. No doubt I have tried much to find a conveyance so that I might pay back his money but could not find one, so I hand this money over to you."
Saying that, he threw the piece of wood into the sea till it went far out into it, and then he went away. Meanwhile he kept looking for a conveyance to take him to the lender's place.
One day, the lender came out of his house to see whether a ship had arrived bringing his money, and all of a sudden, he saw a piece of wood in which was the money. He took it home to use as firewood. When he sawed it, he found his money and the letter inside it.
Shortly after that, the debtor came with a thousand dinars and said, "By Allah! I had been trying to get a boat so I could bring you your money but failed to get one before the one I have come by."
The lender said, "Allah has delivered on your behalf the money you sent in the piece of wood. So you may keep your thousand dinars and go, guided on the right path."

Pujari aur Mujawir ki mulaqaat

The objective of this poem is to bring people's attention towards the fact that how we have contaminated our religion i.e Islam
we have made new rituals which r not mentioned in ahadith of prophet(sl) and left his sunnah.
Ignorant muslims have adopted the rituals of non-beleivers.
Pujari:-
Aap se kuch arz karna chahta hai khaksaar
Is haseen lamhe ka mujh ko tha bahut hi intezaar
Aap hi suljha dein agar is ki koi tadbeer(solution) hai
Roz mere dil mein aata hai yahi bas ek sawaal
Kya aqeedon mein hamare aap bhi hain hum khayaal?

Mujawir:-
Khaq ho munh par tere, bedeen(non beleiver) teri ye majaal
Kaise tune keh diya hum ko bhi apna hum khayaal
Karle apni baat wapas kholna na phir zabaan.
Ek sunni ahle-e-imaan aur ek kaafir kahan?
Ye khayal-e-kham tere dil mein kaise aa gaya?
Apne jaisa hum ko samjhe, kis ne hai behka diya?

Pujari:-
Pehle suniye baat meri phir khafa hon is qadar
Jab galat tahre to phir juta tumhara mera sar
Mudda to pesh karne ki izazat dijiye
Gour se phir aap sun lene ki zahmat kijiye

Mujawir:-
Thik hai fouran nikalo apne dil ki ye khalas
Kya dalail(proofs) hain ke hum donon ki hai ek hi rous(rastaa)

Pujari:-
Ek hi prabhu ki puja agar hum karte nahi
Ek hi dargaah per sar(head) aap bhi dharte nahi
Apni pujagaah devi ka agar asthan hai
Aap ke sajdon ka markaz bhi to qabrestan hai
Apne dewtaon ki ginti hum gar rakhte nahi
Aap bhi mushkil kushaon ko to gin sakte nahi
Jitney kankar utne shankar ye agar mashhoor(famous) hai
Jitney murd utne sajde aap ka dastur hai
Apne devi dewta ko hai agar kuch ikhtiyaar
Aap k waliyon ki taqat(power) ka nahi kuch bhi shumaar
Laxmi apne yahan doulat agar hai baat ti
Aap k rozi rasiya Baghdad k hain pir ji
Dushmanon ko zer(destroy) karti hai agar kaali meri
Har musibat se bachain tum ko ajmeri wali
Waqt-e-mushqil ka hai nara apna bajrangi bali
Aap ko dekha lagaate nara-e haider ali
Malik-e santan santoshi agar apne yahan
Aap ko aulaad karte hain ata Saabir mian
Leta hai autar prabhu apna jab har desh mein
Aap ne samjha hai rab ko Mustafa k bhes mein
Raam ki surat mein aa kar desh ka raja bana
Aap kehte hain k malik hind ka raja bana
Hum ne jab moula ko dekha gopiyon k pher mein
Aap ne dekha kabhi kaliyar kabhi ajmer mein!
Ram naumi per banain hum jo rawan to gunaah
Tum muharram mein banakar naam rakh do taajiya
Hum deewali aur holi per banain gujiyan
Aap rajab mein banain naam rakh dein kundiyan!
Jis tarah hum hain bajate mandiron mein ghantiyan
Turbaton per aap ko dekha bajaate taaliyan
Hum bhajan karte hain gaa kar dewta ki khubiyaan
Aap bhi qabron pe gaate jhoom kar qawwaliyan
Hum chadhate hain buton pe dudj ya paani ki dhar
Tum mazaron pe chadhao murg o chadar shandaar
Agar hamare dewta papal k pedon per rahen
To tumhare auliya bargad ki jad mein ja ghusen
Hum pawitr hote hain gangaji ke har asnan per
Aap paak hote aasagar mein gota maar ker
But parasti ki bina pe hum se ye bugz o inaad?
Sar(head) jhuka ke maang te ho khud hi qabron se murad
But ki puja hum Karen hum ko mile nare saqar?
Aap qabron per jhuken kaise mile janat mein ghar
Aap mushrik hum bhi mushrik(non believer) mamla jab saaf hai
Tum jannati hum dozakhi ye koi insaaf hai?
Hum bhi jannat mein rahenge aap hain agar jannati
Warna dozakh mein hamare saath honge aap bhi

Mujaawir:-
Thik hi kehte ho beshak to na koi farq hai
Hashashr ke din waqai donon ka beda garq hai
Mukhtalif kuch bhi nahi ek duje ki rah gujar
Naam hi ka farq donon jaamzan ek raah per
Sach hai jannat to saji khaalis mu’ahhid k liye
Naare dozakh hi hai mushriq aur mulahhid k liye
Hai karaamat aaba-o-azdaad ki taqleed ki
Jis ne hai allah ki tawheed ki tardeed ki tardeed ki
Ye mulaqaat aap se meri bahut hi behtar hui
Shirk aur bid’at ki kalai puri khul gayi
Phir bhi apne maulvi se hum samajh lenge abhi
Kya yahi tha deen-e-khaalis jo k laye the nabi!

islamic question

Question:
I have got a question regarding a hadiith. How sound is the hadiith, that states, that it
were not for Muhammad (saw) Allaah (swt) would not have created this world???
To be honest I am a bit suspicious about this hadiith, could you shatter some light in the
matter?.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
Many false and fabricated ahaadeeth have been narrated that say similar things.
For example:
.Were it not for you, I would not have created the universe..
This was quoted by al-Shawkaani in al-Fawaa.id al-Majmoo.ah fi.l-Ahaadeeth
al-Mawdoo.ah (p. 326). He said:
Al-San.aani said: (it is) mawdoo. (fabricated).
Al-Albaani said in al-Silsilah al-Da.eefah (282): (it is) mawdoo..

Another example is the hadeeth narrated by al-Haakim according to which Ibn
.Abbaas said:
Allaah revealed to .Eesa (Jesus, peace be upon him): .O .Eesa, believe in
Muhammad, and tell whoever you meet of your ummah to believe in him. For
were it not for Muhammad, I would not have created Adam, and were it not for
Muhammad, I would not have created Paradise and Hell. I created the Throne
over the water and it would not settle until I wrote on it, Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah
Muhammad Rasool Allaah (There is no god but Allaah and Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allaah)..

Al-Dhahabi commented on that and
said: I believe it is fabricated and falsely attributed to Sa.eed.
Meaning, Sa.eed ibn Abu .Aroobah (one of the narrators of this hadeeth). This
hadeeth was narrated from him by .Amr ibn Aws al-Ansaari, who is the one
who is accused of fabricating it. Al-Dhahabi mentioned him in al-Meezaan
where he said: .He produced a munkar report,. then he quoted this hadeeth,
and said, .I believe that it is mawdoo. (fabricated).. Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar
agreed with him, as it says in al-Lisaan.
Al-Albaani said in al-Silsilah al-Da.eefah (280): There is no basis for it.

Shaykh al-Islam (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:
Is the hadeeth which some people quote . .Were it not for you, Allaah would
not have created the Throne or the Kursiy or the earth or the heavens or the sun
or the moon or anything else. saheeh or nor?
He replied:
Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the leader of the
sons of Adam, and the best and noblest of creation, hence some people say that
Allaah created the universe because of him, or that were it not for him, Allaah
would not have created the Throne or the Kursiy or the earth or the heavens or
the sun or the moon.
But this hadeeth that is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) is neither saheeh (sound) nor da.eef (weak), and it was not
narrated by any scholar in a hadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him). Neither was it known from the Sahaabah. Rather it is the
words of one who is unknown.
Majmoo. al-Fataawa, 11/86-96.

The Standing Committee was asked:
Can it be said that Allaah created the heavens and the earth for the purpose of
creating the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? What is the
meaning of the hadeeth, .Were it not for you the universe would not have been
created,. and does this hadeeth have any basis?
They replied:
The heavens and the earth were not created for the sake of the Prophet (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him), rather they were created for the purpose
which Allaah mentions (interpretation of the meaning):
.It is Allaah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof
(i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that
you may know that Allaah has power over all things, and that Allaah surrounds
all things in (His) Knowledge.
[al-Talaaq 65:12]
As for the hadeeth mentioned, it is falsely attributed to the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) and has no sound basis.
Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa.imah, 1/312

Shaykh Ibn Baaz was asked about this hadeeth and said:
The answer is that this was transmitted from the words of some of the common
people who have no understanding. Some people say that the world was created
for the sake of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and
were it not for Muhammad the world would not have been created and mankind
would not have been created. This is false and has no basis, and these are
corrupt words. Allaah created the world so that He would be known and
worshipped. He created the world and He created mankind so that His names
and attributes, His power and knowledge, would be known and so that He alone
would be worshipped with no partner or associate, and so that He would be
obeyed . not for the sake of Muhammad or for the sake of Nooh or Moosa or
.Eesa or any other Prophet. Rather Allaah created the universe so that He alone
would be worshipped, with no partner or associate.

Shab-e-Baraat: custom & reality

If you are celebrating the middle of Sha'baan, please read this through and then if you still want to celebrate this night, then the decision is yours......

To all those people who insist on Celebrating the Middle of Sha'baan...by Islam Ahmad

Why are you so insistent on celebrating a night for which there are no saheeh reports of the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) or the Sahaba doing it?
All the ahadeeth they quote you about praying a certain number of Rakaat or forgiveness for 80 years, going to the graveyard, etc. are either fabricated or weak!

Do you know what it means when a hadeeth is fabricated?
It meansit is a LIE against the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam). It means he (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) didn't say it; he didn't do it and he didn't approve of it.The Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said:“Whoever tells lies about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.” (Bukhaari)

And do you know what it means when a hadeeth is classified as weak?
It also means that it is highly doubtful that the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) did it or said it.
Why do you insist on following something that is doubtful when the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) told you clearly to stay away from it?!!
“What is permitted is clear and what is prohibited is clear, and between them are doubtful things which many people do not know about. Whoever avoids doubtful things will be on the safe side with regard to his religion and his honor, but whoever falls into doubtful things will fall into haraam things.”’(Muslim).

What is the benefit of following something that is doubtful?
Who is it that you want to listen to...the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) whose truthfulness is confirmed, or some 'Mulla' on the television or radio who quotes you weak or fabricated ahaadeeth...
..who doesn't know the Sunnah from bid'ah....who misguides not only himself but misguides all those whom he spreads his ignorance and bid'ah to?!!!
“... whoever calls people to misguidance will have a burden of sin like that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their burden in the slightest.” (Muslim)
They say the Quraan was sent down this night....And you believe them? who don't even know how to read the Quraan?
Allaah says:"The month ofRamadan is the month in which the Qur'aan was sent down..." (al- Baqarah:185)
You say that this is the night the rizq is sent down...
You say that this night your life span is written....
Where does it say that? Is that hadeeth that they quote Saheeh? NO. In fact, it is FABRICATED!! !
Have you forgotten the saheeh hadeeth when an angel will come to the mother's womb and write your rizq and your life span for you even before you are born???

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘The way that each of you is created is that he is gathered in his mother’s womb for forty days as a sperm drop, and then for a similar length of time as a blood-clot, and then for a similar length of time as a lump of flesh. Then an angel is sent and he breathes the spirit into (the foetus), and is charged with four commands: to write down his provision (rizq), his life-span, his actions, and whether he will be wretched or happy..." (Bukhaari, Muslim).
And even if, for arguments sake, we assume that this night Allaah does send down rizq, you think your praying one night will send you the rizq while the rest of the year you ignore His injunctions, you disobey Him left and right?
You think of rizq this night. But you didn't think of your 'rizq' the rest of the year when you lie and cheat your own brother .....you don't think of rizq when you commit zina, when you deal with interest, when you run around all year uncovered with no hijaab, when you sell liquor or lotto at your store, when you are negligent about your Fajr or any other prayer for that matter!!
In fact where is the worry of this 'rizq' when you are committing all the major sins without even blinking an eye?
And you think praying one night out of the whole year will do it for you?
You think your praying this one night will get you rizq while the rest of the 364 days you disobey him?
Where is the logic in that?
What kind of Islaam is this... Subhaan Allaah!!!

You are like the 'Ramadan Muslim'....
Come Ramadan, you suddenly decide to 'submit' to Allaah. You start praying....you start fasting....you go to the masjid for Taraweeh. All well and good. BUT, come Shawwaal, you are the one who will dress up in the tightest of clothes, the latest fashion, put on the strongest perfume and the loudest music and go for Eid prayer, hanging out with the opposite gender. After all it is Eid, right??!!
Then comes time for Dhuhr. Uh......excuse me.....what Dhuhr, what Asr....in fact........ .what Salah?
Oh then you say..."But my parents, my family and all I know have been doing it all their lives!"
Allaah replies to you and says:"When it is said to them: 'Follow what Allah has sent down,' they reply: 'We will follow that which we found our fathers upon,' even though their fathers did not understand anything and they were notguided."(Surah al-Baqarah: 170)
And Subhaan Allaah, we are talking about something which is not even fardh?!!
Have you paid even one hundredth of this much passion and attention to your FARDH Salah??!!!WHAT KIND OF A FARCE IS THIS?
WHY CANT YOU SEE THIS IS A TRICK OF THE SHAYTAAN?
What are we doing here.... Are we trying to please Allaah or are we trying to please ourselves???
By worshipping one night without any proof we think we have guaranteed Jannah?!!
And for all those who promote this kind of bidah and heresy, on TV, radio or otherwise, I say fear Allaah, I repeat FEAR ALLAAH. Stop misguiding the average Muslim.

"O you who believe! Fear Allah. Let every soullook to what it has forwarded for the future, and fear Allah, for Allah is Aware of the things you do." (Surah al-Hashr:18)
Isn't the burden of your own sin enough that you want to carry the burden of sin of all those whom you misguide???? !!!!

"How evil will thatburden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. " (Surah Taha:101)

If you really want to please Allaah, follow the Sunnah!!
Follow the Saheeh ahadeeth, not some weak ones for which the Ulama have doubts.

"Say: "Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allaah's Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance." (Surah an-Nur:54)
Do you want to end up one of those that think that they are doing good, but on the Day of Judgment, will have NOTHING on the scale of good deeds??!!

"Say (O Muhammad ): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!" (Surah al-Kahf:103- 104)
And why??
Because all their efforts will be rejected by Allaah because they were not according to the Sunnah!
The Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said:"Whoever innovates in our religion a new act (of worship) then his act is rejected" (Bukhari)
In the end:
And if after all this, you still want to argue, all I have to say is this:"If they argue with you (O Muhammad), say: 'I have submitted my face to Allah and so have those who follow me.' To those who have received the Book and to the ignorant, ask: 'Have you submitted yourselves to Allah?' (Surah Aal-Imraan: 20)
As-salaam walekum
Insha'Allah We All LOVE Islam In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate "May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You" Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala RasulillahAs-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Did prophet Muhammad (pbuh) directly see Allah almighty,on the day of miraaj.

Praise be to Allaah.
Most of the Sahaabah were of the view that the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) did not see Allaah with his eyes on the night of the
Miraaj.

It was narrated that .Aa.ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: .Whoever
told you that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw his
Lord was lying. He said that no vision can grasp him [cf. al-An.aam 6:103]..
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Tawheed, 6832).

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: .I asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him), .Did you see your Lord?. He said, . He
is veiled by Light, how could I see Him... (Narrated by Muslim, al-Eeman,
261).

It was narrated that Ibn .Abbaas said: . .The (Prophet.s) heart belied not what
he saw, and indeed he saw Him at a second descent.. [al-Najm 53:11-12] (This
means that) he saw Him twice with his heart.. (Narrated by Muslim, al-
Eemaan, 258).

Ibn al-Qayyim said: . .Uthmaan ibn Sa.eed al-Daarimi said in his book al-
Ru.yah that there was consensus among the Sahaabah that he [the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] did not see his Lord on the night
of the Mi.raaj. Some of them excluded Ibn .Abbaas and said that he was not
one of those who said that. Our Shaykh says that this does not go against the
facts, for Ibn .Abbaas did not say that he saw Him with the eyes in his head,
and Ahmad relied upon this in one of the two reports narrated from him, where
he says that he saw Him but he did not say that that was with the eyes in his
head. The wording used by Ahmad is the same as that used by Ibn .Abbaas
(may Allaah be pleased with them both). What indicates that what our Shaykh
said about the meaning of the hadeeth of Abu Dharr is correct is the fact that in
another hadeeth he said that His veil is Light. And Allaah knows best what the
Light is that is mentioned in the hadeeth of Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased
with him) where it says, .I saw Light...
[Ijtimaa. al-Juyoosh al-Islamiyyah, vol. 1, p. 12]

Shaykh al-Islam (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: .Chapter: with regard
to seeing Allaah, what was proven in al-Saheeh from Ibn .Abbaas is that he
said: .Muhammad saw his Lord with his heart twice, and .Aa.ishah denied that
he had seen Him. Some people reconciled these two reports by saying that
.Aa.ishah denied that he saw Him with his eyes and Ibn .Abbaas affirmed that
he saw Him with his heart. Some versions of the report narrated from Ibn
.Abbaas refers to seeing without specifying how, and others indicate that it was
with the heart. Sometimes he says that Muhammad saw his Lord, and
sometimes he says that Muhammad saw Him. There is no clear statement from
Ibn .Abbaas which says that he saw Him with his eyes. Similarly Imaam
Ahmad sometimes says that he saw Him and sometimes says that he saw Him
with his heart. No one whom Ahmad heard said that he saw Him with his eyes.
But some of his companions heard some of the words that did not specify how,
and understood from that that he had seen Him with his eyes, just as some
people heard the words of Ibn .Abbaas that did not specify how, and
understood from that that he had seen Him with his eyes. But there is nothing in
the evidence to prove that he saw Him with his eyes, and that was not narrated
from any of the Sahaabah. There is nothing in the Qur.aan or Sunnah to
indicate that, rather the saheeh texts which indicate that he did not see Him are
more definitive. In Saheeh Muslim it is narrated that Abu Dharr said: .I asked
the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), .Did
you see your Lord?. He said, .He is veiled with Light, how could I see Him?..
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allaah) [above all that (evil) they associate
with Him]
Who took His slave (Muhammad) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid Al-
Haraam (at Makkah) to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsaa (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood
whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad) of
Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.).
[al-Isra. 17:1]

If he had seen Him with his own eyes, that He would have mentioned that. The
same applies to the words .Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad) about
what he saw [during the Mi.raaj]?. [al-Najm 53:12 .
interpretation of the
meaning]. If he had seen Him with his own eyes, that would have been
mentioned.

It is proven from the saheeh texts and from the consensus of the salaf (first
generations) of this ummah that no one can see Allaah with his eyes in this
world
, with the exception of the claim made by some that our Prophet
Muhammad alone saw Him. But they are agreed that the believers will see
Allaah on the Day of Resurrection with their own eyes just as they see the sun
and the moon (in this world)..

And Allaah knows best.

sha'ban: misconceptions and realities

The month of Shabaan would bring in a lot of excitementand celebration. And that was because celebrating the night of the fifteenth ofShabaan was a big thing and considered a very virtuous act, indeed.
Men wouldgather in the masjid while the women prepared 'Halwas' and sweets, preparationswere made for all night vigils or "Shabeenas" as they were called, buses weremade available to take the men to visit the graveyards and flyers weredistributed to everyone containing a long list of 'special prayers' so that theycould stay up all night praying.

But, Alhamdulillaah, how Allaah Subhaanahu wa Taala protects His Deen. WhenAllaah enabled me to study this beautiful religion of ours, all that changed. Irealized that all those 'special prayers', all those night vigils, all thoseHalwas and all those graveyard visits were really not the way of the Prophet(Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam). In fact all that was far...far away from hisSunnah and the Shareeah that he brought.

And so I thought I would bring to attention some of the misconceptions and wrongideas attached to this month as this ignorance and innovation has become sorampant, that it has become a sort of an epidemic in practically every Muslim community that exists.

Misconception # 1:
The night of the 15th of Shabaan should be singled out for worship, prayer, etc.

Clarification:Our best example and role model is the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam)and he never, ever singled out this night for worship or qiyaam nor did hisSahaba.Shaykh Ibn Baaz said:"There is no saheeh hadeeth concerning the night of thefifteenth of Sha’baan. All the ahaadeeth that have been narrated concerning thatare mawdoo’ (fabricated) and daeef (weak), and have no basis. There is nothingspecial about this night, and no recitation of Quraan or prayer, whether aloneor in congregation, is specified for this night. What some of the scholars havesaid about it being special is a weak opinion. It is not permissible to singleit out for any special actions. This is the correct view. And Allaah is theSource of strength." (Fataawa Islamiyyah, 4/511)read moreLaylat al-Nusf min Sha’baan should not be singled out for worshiphttp://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/8907

Misconception # 2:
There are special prayers to be offered on this night.

Clarification:
The truth of the matter is that there are NO special prayers to be offered onthis night specifically. And all those 'ahaadeeth' giving you long lists ofspecial 'formulas' that are "supposed to guarantee you Allaah's forgiveness andJannah" are all fabricated, false and innovations in our Deen. If there weresuch prayers, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) would have told usabout them and we would have had evidence of him and the Sahaba doing it.

Misconception # 3:
Allaah descends to the first heavens on this night to forgive us.
Clarification:
Allaah’s descending to the first heaven does not only happen on the night of thefifteenth of Shabaan. Rather it happens every single night of the year. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: "Every night when it is thelast third of the night, our Lord, the Superior, the Blessed, descends to thenearest heaven and says: Is there anyone to invoke Me that I may respond to hisinvocation? Is there anyone to ask Me so that I may grant him his request? Isthere anyone asking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?. " (Bukhaari)
Thus, when Abd-Allaah ibn al-Mubaarak was asked about the descent of Allaah onthe night of the fifteenth of Shabaan, he said to the one who asked him: “O weakone! The night of the fifteenth?! He descends every night!” read moreDoes Allaah come down to the first heaven on the night of the fifteenth ofSha’baan?http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/49678

Misconception # 4:
This is the night when our fate, lifespan, and provisions are decreed.
Clarification:
Some people think that the "blessed night" (laylatim-mubarakah) mentioned inSurah ad-Dukhaan (44): 3, refers to the night of 15th Shabaan, when Allahdecrees our lifespan, provisions and fate. In fact, they even pray 6 rakahs, 2for each of these things. However, all that is fabricated and far, far away fromthe Sunnah. And, in reality, the "blessed night" mentioned in Surah ad-Dukhaan,actually is referring to Laylatul Qadr that comes in Ramadhaan. (Tafseer IbnKathir of Surah al-Qadr)

Misconception # 5:
One should fast on the day of the fifteenth.
Clarification:
Here again, there is no saheeh reports that tell us that the Prophet (SalAllaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) or his Sahaabah ever picked this day specifically tofast. The Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) was to fast mostof this month and not just the 15th. However, if the fifteenth of Shabaancoincides with a Monday or Thursday, or with the three white days or if a personis generally fasting, without associating seeking extra rewards to fasting thisspecific day, then it is allowed. (Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid)

Misconception # 6:
This is the night when the souls of departed ones return to their families.
Clarification:
Here again, some people misunderstand the ayaat in Surah al-Qadr and think thatthe 'sending down of the Ruh' as mentioned in this Surah refers to the souls ofdead people returning to see their families, even though it refers to Jibreel(Tafseer Ibn Kathir). And that is why we see women preparing the sweets, the Halwas and other 'goodies' for the souls of their loved ones. Not only is that in itself an erroneous, deviant belief and bidah, but tobelieve that the souls of the dead can return back to the world and meet/seetheir relatives is also totally incorrect and false. The teachings of the Quraanand the Sunnah clearly state that the souls of the dead do not return back tothe world. Besides, they don't even eat the Halwas. It is actually you who eatsit!

Misconception # 7:
Visiting graveyards especially this night is something good.
Clarification:
Although the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) encouraged visiting graves,he forbade singling out any day or night for any kinds of good deeds if it isnot prescribed in the Shareeah. And he did not specifically visit the graveyardon the night of the 15th of Shabaan. The hadeeth of Aisha that mentions that theProphet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) visited the graveyard this night is notauthentic and thus does not have any proof for visiting graves specifically onthis night of Shabaan.

Misconception # 8:
Even if the ahaadeeth about worship on this night are weak, one can still do it.
Clarification:
The correct scholarly view is that weak ahaadeeth should not befollowed at all, even if they speak of righteous deeds or of targheeb andtarheeb (promises and warnings). The saheeh reports are sufficient and theMuslim has no need to follow the daeef reports.Shaykh Ahmad Shaakir said: "There is no difference between rulings or righteousdeeds; we do not take any of them from daeef reports, rather no one has theright to use any report as evidence unless it is proven to be soundly narratedfrom the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) in a saheeh or hasanhadeeth." read moreShould he fast on the fifteenth of Sha’baan even if the hadeeth is da’eef?http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/49675

Misconception # 9:
Look at all those people doing it. How can they all be wrong?
Clarification:
The Muslim is supposed to refer to Allaah and His Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alayhiwa Sallam)'s Sunnah, if there is any confusion or dispute about matters and NOTwhat the rest of the world is doing.“O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger and those of you who arein authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it toAllaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and in the Last Day. That isbetter and more suitable for final determination [al-Nisaa’ 4:59]Shaykh Ibn Jibreen said: "These reports (about worship and fasting an the 15thof Sha'baan) became very well known in some countries which were overwhelmed byignorance; One should not be deceived by the large numbers of ignorant peoplewho do these things."

The REAL Sunnah regarding Sha'baan:

If you truly and sincerely want to please Allaah and do deeds that will beacceptable to Him, then follow the REAL Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal AllaahuAlayhi wa Sallam). Here is what is proven in the authentic sunnah:
1. Fast most of this month as much as you can.Aaishah RA said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allaah fasting for an entiremonth except in Ramadaan, and I never saw him fast more than he did inSha’baan.” (Bukhaari, Muslim).
2. However, if you are weak or do not fast habitually and feel that this nafilfasting may be a hindrance to your obligatory fasting in the month of Ramadhaan, then the person may stop the nafil fasting in the last few days of this month. And for that person, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:“When Sha’baan is half over, do not fast.” (saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheehal-Tirmidhi).
3. If you have fasts left over from last Ramadhaan to make up, then hurry up anddo so in this month of Sha'baan before the next Ramadhaan comes. It is notpermissible to delay missed fasts until after the following Ramadhaan, except incases of necessity (such as a valid excuse that continues between the twoRamadaans).Aa'ishah RA said: 'It used to be that I had days to make up for Ramadhaan and Iwould not be able to do so except in Sha'baan.” [Bukhaari]

prophet's(sl) last sermon

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Prophet Muhammad's (saws) Last Sermon
[This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul-Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' in
Mecca.]
After praising and thanking Allah the Prophet (saws) said:
"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligations shall henceforth be
waived. Your capital is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib [the Prophet's uncle] be waived.

Every right arising out of homicide in pre-islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that i waive is that arising from the murder of Rabiah ibn al Harithibn.
O People, the unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calender in order to make permissible that which Allah forbade, and to forbid that which Allah has made permissible. With Allah the months are twelve in number. Four of them are holy, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Shaban.

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope of that he will be able to lead you astrayin big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right, then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belogs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves.
Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me, and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O
People, and understand my words which I convey to you
. I leave behind me two things, the Qur'an and my Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I haveconveyed Your message to Your people."[collected by MUSNAD-E-AHMAD]

rulings on lying

Praise be to Allaah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allaah from the evil of our own selves and from our evil deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides, none can lead astray, and whomsoever He sends astray, none can guide.

Lying is an evil characteristic, which all religions and systems of ethics warn against and which man's innate common sense (fitrah) agrees that it is wrong. Those who possess chivalry and sound reason also say this.

Truthfulness is one of the pillars on which the moral survival of the world depends. It is the foundation of praiseworthy characteristics, the cornerstone of Prophethood, the result of taqwaa. Were it not for truthfulness, the rulings of all divinely-revealed laws would collapse. Acquiring the characteristic of lying is akin to shedding one's humanity, because speaking is an exclusively human trait.
(Bareeqah Mahmoodiyyah, Muhammad al-Khaadimi, 3/183)

Our purely monotheistic sharee’ah warns against lying in the Qur’aan and Sunnah, and there is consensus that it is haraam. The liar will have bad consequences in this world and in the next.

According to sharee’ah, lying is not permitted except in specific cases which do not lead to loss of rights, bloodshed or slander of people’s honour, etc., but which concern saving lives, reconciling between people, or creating love between husband and wife.
There is a never a day or a moment when sharee’ah permits a person to tell lies or to say whatever he wants based on lies. One of the things that have become widespread among the common people is the so called “April Fool’s Day”, where they claim that the first day of the fourth solar month is a day when lying is permitted without being subject to any shar’i guidelines.
Many bad things may result from this, some of which we will mention below.
The prohibition of lying.

1. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“It is only those who believe not in the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allaah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars
[al-Nahl 16:105]

Ibn Katheer said:
“Then Allaah tells us that His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is not a fabricator or a liar, because only the most evil of people who do not believe in the signs of Allaah, the kaafirs and heretics who are known amongst the people for telling lies, tell lies about Allaah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the most truthful of people, the most righteous, the most perfect in knowledge, action, faith and certain belief. He was known amongst his people for his truthfulness; none of them doubted that, to such an extent that he was known amongst them as ‘al-Ameen (the trustworthy) Muhammad.’ Hence when Heraclius, the ruler of Rome, asked Abu Sufyaan about the characteristics of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), one of the things he asked was, ‘Did you ever accuse him of lying before he said what he said?’ He said, ‘No.’ Heraclius said: ‘If he refrained from telling lies about people he would not go and tell lies about Allaah.’
(Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 2/588)

2. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 33; Muslim, 59)

al-Nawawi said:
“What the commentators and most of the scholars said – which is correct – is that this means that these characteristics are the characteristics of hypocrisy, and the one who has these characteristics resembles the hypocrites in this sense.

The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), ‘he is a pure hypocrite’ mean that he strongly resembles the hypocrites because of these characteristics. Some of the scholars said: this is concerning one in whom these characteristics predominate; one in whom these characteristics rarely appear is not included in this. This is the favoured view concerning the meaning of this hadeeth. Imaam Abu ‘Eesa al-Tirmidhi (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated this meaning from the scholars and said: ‘The meaning of this according to the scholars is hypocrisy in one's actions.’”
(Sharh Muslim, 2/46-47)

The most evil kinds of lies are:
1. Lies told about Allaah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
This is the most serious kind of lie, and the one who does this is subject to a severe warning. Some of the scholars said that the one who does this is to be denounced as a kaafir.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say: ‘Verily, those who invent a lie against Allaah will never be successful’”
[Yoonus 10:69]

It was narrated that ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Do not tell lies about me. Whoever tells lies about me, let him enter the Fire.’”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 106).

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever tells lies about me, let him take his place in Hell.”
(narrated by al-Bukhaari, 110; Muslim, 3).

Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“… ‘Whoever tells lies about me, let him take his place in Hell’, i.e., let him take his place in Hell where he will abide and settle; it is not like a manzil or camp where he stays for a while and then moves on.”
(Tareeq al-Hijratayn, p. 169)

Lying also includes lies told about or to other people, such as

2. Lying in buying and selling.

It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three to whom Allaah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection and He will not look at them or praise them, and they will have a painful torment.” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) repeated this three times. Abu Dharr said: “May they be doomed and lost, who are they, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said, “The one who lets his garment hang below his ankles, the one who reminds others of his favours, and the one who disposes of his goods by swearing a false oath.”
(Narrated by Muslim, 106)

It was narrated that Hakeem ibn Hizaam (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘The two parties involved in a transaction have the option [of cancelling it] until they part. If they are honest and truthful, their transaction will be blessed for them and if they conceal something and tell lies, the blessing of their transaction will be wiped out.’”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1973; Muslim, 532)

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
“Allaah has enjoined truthfulness and honesty, and He has forbidden lies and concealment with regard to matters which should be known and revealed to people, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a hadeeth whose authenticity is agreed upon: ‘The two parties involved in a transaction have the option [of cancelling it] until they part. If they are honest and truthful, their transaction will be blessed for them and if they conceal something and tell lies, the blessing of their transaction will be wiped out.’ And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
‘O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allaah as just witnesses; and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety’
[al-Maa’idah 5:8].”
(Minhaaj al-Sunnah, 1/16)

3. The prohibition on lying about visions and dreams

This refers to when some of them claim to have seen such and such in a dream, but they are not telling the truth, then in the morning he starts to tell the people something that he did not see.
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever tells of a dream that he did not see will be commanded [on the Day of Resurrection] to tie two grains of barley together, but he will never be able to do it. Whoever eavesdrops on people’s conversation when they dislike that – or they try to get away from him - will have molten copper poured in his ears in the Day of Resurrection. And whoever makes an image will be punished and will be told to breathe life into it, and he will not be able to do so.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6635)

Al-Manaawi said:
“ ‘to tie two grains of barley together, but he will never be able to do it’ – because tying one to the other is not possible ordinarily. He will be punished until he does that, and he will never be able to do it. It is as if he is saying that he will be enjoined to do something that he can never do, and is being punished for it. This is a metaphor for continuous punishment… The reason why barley (sha’eer) is mentioned specifically is because dreams are connected to feelings (shu’oor); the words sha’eer (barley) and shu’oor (feelings) come from the same root in Arabic.
The punishment for that is so severe – even though lies when awake may cause more damage, because they may involve testimony that may lead to execution or a hadd punishment – because lying about a dream is a lie about Allaah, may He be exalted, for dreams are a part of Prophethood, so they come from Him, and lying about the Creator is worse than lying about created beings.
(Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/99)

4. The prohibition of speaking about everything that one hears

It was narrated that Hafs ibn ‘Aasim said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘It is sufficient lying for a man to speak of everything that he hears.’”
(Narrated by Muslim, 5)

With regard to the meanings of the hadeeth and reports on this topic, they discourage speaking about everything that one hears. For usually a person will hear both true things and lies, so if he were to speak of everything that he hears, he would be lying, by telling of something that did not happen. We have stated above the view of the people of truth: that lying means telling of something in a manner other than the way it happened. It is not conditional upon it being done deliberately, but its being done deliberately is a condition of it being a sin. And Allaah knows best.”
(Sharh Muslim, 1/75)

5. Lying in jest

Some people think that it is permissible to tell lies if it is in jest. This is the excuse that they use for telling lies on April 1st or on other days. This is wrong. There is no basis for this in the pure sharee’ah. Lying is haraam whether the one who does it is joking or is serious.
Lying in jest is haraam just like other kinds of lies.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘I joke, but I speak nothing but the truth.’”
(narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Mu’jam al-Kabeer, 12/391)

This hadeeth was classed as hasan by al-Haythami in Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 8/89, and classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) in Saheeh al-Jaami, 2494)
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: “They said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, you joke with us.’ He said, ‘But I only speak the truth.’”
(narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1990)

Abu ‘Eesa said: this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth.
A similar hadeeth was narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Awsat (8/305) and classed as hasan by al-Haythami in Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 9/17

‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Abi Laylaa said: the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that they were travelling with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). A man among them fell asleep and some of them went and took his arrows. When the man woke up, he got alarmed (because his arrows were missing) and the people laughed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “What are you laughing at?” They said, “Nothing, except that we took the arrows and he got alarmed.” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible for a Muslim to frighten another Muslim.”
(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 5004; Ahmad, 22555 – this version narrated by Ahmad).
This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7658)

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn al-Saa’ib ibn Yazeed from his father from his grandfather that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “None of you should take the belongings of his brother, whether in jest or otherwise. Whoever has taken the stick of his brother, let him return it.”
(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 5003; al-Tirmidhi, 2160 in brief)
The hadeeth was classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7578

6. Lying when playing with children

We must beware of lying when playing with children, because that will be written down (in the record of deeds of) the one who that. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned against doing that. It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Aamir (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “My mother called me one day when the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sitting in our house. She said, ‘Come here, and I will give you (something).’ The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘What do you want to give him?’ She said, ‘I will give him a date.’ The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘If you had not given him something, you would have been lying.’”

And it was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever says to a child, ‘Come here and take this,’ then does not give him something, this is counted as a lie.’”
(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4991)

This hadeeth was classed as hasan by Shaykh al-‘Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1319.

7. Lying to make people laugh

It was narrated that Mu’aawiyah ibn Haydah said: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Woe to the one who talks to make the people laugh and tells lies, woe to him, woe to him.’”
(narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 235. He said: this is a hasan hadeeth. Also narrated by Abu Dawood, 4990).

i. Tawheed ar – Ruboobeeyyah: Unity of Lordship. This means that we accept Allah as being the only real power in the Universe
ii. Tawheed al – Asma’ was – Sifaat: Unity of Allah’s Names and Attributes. This means to describe Allah according to the names and attributes by which He has described himself in the Qur’an or by those which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to describe the Qur’an or Allah
iii. Tawheed al – ‘Ibadah: Unity of Worship. This means that we direct all of our prayers only to Allah, because He is the only one who is able to answer our prayers.
2. Shirk Shirk Islamically refers to assigning partners to Allaah in whatever form it may take.“Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allâh in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.”[The Noble Qur’an, Soorah An-Nisa 4:48]
i. Shirk in Tawheed ar – Ruboobeeyyah: This category of Shirk includes both the belief that others share Allaah’s control and rule over the creation, as well as the belief that there exists no Lord over the creation at all.
ii. Shirk in Tawheed al – Asmaa’ was – Sifaat:This category of Shirk includes both the belief that God is like a man and the belief that man is like God
iii. Shirk in Tawheed al – ‘Ibaadah:This category of Shirk refers to the act of worshipping others along with Allaah
3. Amulets and Charms
It was the practice amoung the Arabs in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to wear arm bracelets, bangles, beaded necklaces, shells, etc., as charms to avert evil and bring good fortune. Faith in charms, amulets and talismans contradicts true belief in Allaah’s Ruboobeeyyah (Lordship) by attributing, to created objects, the power to avert evil and bring good fortune. Islaam opposed all the manifestations of such beliefs that appeared in Arabia during the lifetime of the last Prophet (peace be upon him) in order to establish a foundation on the basis of which similar beliefs and practices would also be condemned and prohibited whenever and wherever they later appeared. Such beliefs, in fact, provide the ideological basis for idol worship in most pagan societies and charms themselves represent a branch of idolatry.
“Say: "Who can guard and protect you in the night or in the day from the (punishment of the) Most Beneficent (Allâh)?" Nay, but they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord.”[The Noble Qur’an, Soorah Al-Anbiya 21:42]
It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (May Allaah be pleased with him) from ‘Abd-Allaah that he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) say, ‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allaah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) used to say:“‘Idhhabil-ba’s Rabban-naas wa’shfi, a’nt ash-Shaafee, laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka, shifaa’an laa yughaadiruhu saqamaa.”(Remove the suffering, O’ Lord of mankind, and heal it perfectly, as You are the true healer. There is no cure except Your cure, a cure which is not followed by sickness)”[1]
It was narrated from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir al-Juhani that a group came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) [to swear their allegiance (bay’ah) to him]. He accepted the bay’ah of nine of them but not of one of them. They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the bay’ah of nine but not of this one.” He said, “He is wearing an amulet.” The man put his hand (in his shirt) and took it off, then he (the Prophet (peace be upon him)) accepted his bay’ah. He said, ‘Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk.”[2]
The texts of the hadeeths forbidding talismans do not distinguish between charms containing Qur’aan and those that do not. And, we have no record of the Prophet (peace be upon him) wearing Qur’aanic verses or allowing them to be worn. The wearing of Qur’aanic charms also contradicts the prophetic method of breaking spells and averting evil. The Sunnah is to recite Qur’aanic chapters and verses, when evil approaches (see below).
Wearing the Qur’aan in an amulet is like a sick man given prescription by a doctor. Instead of reading it and getting the medicine, he rolls it into a ball, puts it in a pouch and hands it around his neck, believing that it will make him well.
The practice of producing miniature Qur’aans so small as to be unreadable with the naked eye, for wearing in lockets, invites to Shirk. Similarly, ornaments with Aayat – ul – Kursee written in minute, virtually illegible, letters and worn as pendants also encourages shirk. but most who wear them do so for protection from evil, and as such fall into an aspect of Shirk in the fundamental Islamic principle of Tawheed.
Sheikh al - Albaanee (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “This misguidance is still widespread among the Bedouin, fellahin (peasants) and some of the city-dwellers. Examples include the pearls which some drivers put in their cars, hanging them from the rear-view mirror. Some of them hang an old shoe on the front or back of the car; some hang a horse-shoe on the front of their house or shop. All of that is to ward off the evil eye, or so they claim. And there are other things which are widespread because of ignorance of Tawheed and the things which nullify it such as actions of shirk and idolatry which the Messengers were only sent and the Books were only revealed to put an end to. It is to Allaah that we complain of the ignorance of Muslims nowadays, and their being far away from their religion.”[3]
4. Protection And Cure From The Qur’aan and Sunnah
4.1 Protection For Your Family
1. Recite Soorah Baqarah Aboo Hurayrah (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: “Do not make your houses as graveyards. Satan runs away from the house in which Soorah Baqarah is recited.”[4]
2. Recite the Last Two Verses of Soorah Baqarah Narrated an-Nu‘maan ibn Basheer (May Allaah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “When the last two verses of Soorah al-Baqarah are read in a home for three consecutive nights, the devil will not come near it.”[5]
4.2 Protection For Yourself
1. ‘Ajwah Dates
Narrated Saud (May Allaah be pleased with him): I heard Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) saying, "If Somebody takes seven 'Ajwa dates in the morning, neither magic nor poison will hurt him that day.”[6]
2. Ayat ul – Kursee
Ubayy bin Ka’b (May Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that he had a harvest of dates. He noticed that it shrunk everyday, and decided to watch it at night. He did, and found a beast that resembled a boy who attained puberty. He gave it salaam, and it responded to his salaam. He asked, “Are you human or jinn?” It replied, “Jinn” He said to it, “Show me your hand.” It showed him its hand, and he saw that it looked like a dog’s and was covered with fur like that of a dog. He exclaimed, “Is this how jinns are like?” It told him, “All jinns know that there is no one among them mightier than me.” He asked it, “What brought you here?” It replied, “We have been informed that you like to give charity, so we can to get some of your food.” He asked it, “What would protect us from you?” It replied, “This aayah from Soorat ul-Baqarah, ‘Allahu laa ilaaha illaa huw al – hay ul – qayyoom,’ (Al – Baqarah 2:255) –whoever says it in the evening, he will be protected from us until the morning; and whoever says it in the morning, he will be protected from us until the evening.”
In the morning, Ubaay can to Allaah Messenger (peace be upon him) and told him about this. The Messenger (peace be upon him) told him, “The evil one has said the truth.”[7]
Narrated Aboo Hurayrah (May Allaah be pleased with him): Allah's Apostle deputed me to keep Sadaqat (al-Fitr) of Ramadan. A comer came and started taking handfuls of the foodstuff (of the Sadaqa) (stealthily) . I took hold of him and said, "By Allah, I will take you to Allah's Apostle ." He said, "I am needy and have many dependents, and I am in great need." I released him, and in the morning Allah's Apostle asked me, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I said, "O Allah's Apostle! The person complained of being needy and of having many dependents, so, I pitied him and let him go." Allah's Apostle said, "Indeed, he told you a lie and he will be coming again." I believed that he would show up again as Allah's Apostle had told me that he would return. So, I waited for him watchfully. When he (showed up and) started stealing handfuls of foodstuff, I caught hold of him again and said, "I will definitely take you to Allah's Apostle. He said, "Leave me, for Iam very needy and have many dependents. I promise I will not come back again." I pitied him and let him go. In the morning Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) asked me, "What did your prisoner do." I replied, "O Allah's Apostle! He complained of his great need and of too many dependents, so I took pity on him and set him free." Allah's Apostle said, "Verily, he told you a lie and he will return." I waited for him attentively for the third time, and when he (came and) started stealing handfuls of the foodstuff, I caught hold of him and said, "I will surely take you to Allah's Apostle as it is the third time you promise not to return, yet you break your promise and come." He said, "(Forgive me and) I will teach you some words with which Allah will benefit you." I asked, "What are they?" He replied, "Whenever you go to bed, recite "Ayat-al-Kursi" -- 'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Haiy- ul Qaiyum' till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no Satan will come near you till morning." So, I released him.In the morning, Allah's Apostle asked, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I replied, "He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me, so I let him go." Allah's Apostle asked, "What are they?" I replied, "He said to me, 'Whenever you go to bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi from the beginning to the end ---- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-lHaiy-ul- Qaiyum--- -.' He further said to me, '(If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you, and no satan will come near you till morning.' (Aboo Hurayrah or another sub-narrator) added that they (the companions) were very keen to do good deeds. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to, these three nights, O Aboo Hurayrah?" Aboo Hurayrah said, "No." He said, "It was Satan!”[8]
3. Soorah al – Ikhlaas (112), Soorah al – Falaq (113), and Soorah an – Naas (114).
‘Abdullaah ibn Khubayb (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported that he went with other men on a dark night seeking the Prophet (peace be upon him) to lead them in prayer. When they found him, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Khubayb, “Say!” Not knowing what to say, Khubayb remained silent. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made the same demand two more times. On the third time, Khubayb said, “O Allaah’s Messenger, what should I say?”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: “Say ‘Qul huw – allaahu ahad’ (Soorah Iklhaas 112), and the mu’awwithaataan (Soorah al – Falaq 113 and Soorah an – Naas 114) three times in the evening and in the morning. This would protect you from all (harmful) things.”[9] read more about these Soorah's with tafsir ... 4. Morning and evening Protection
‘Uthmaan bin ‘Affaan (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported that Allaah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Nothing would hard a ‘abd (servant/slave) who says three times every morning and evening: “Bism illaah il – lathe laa yadurru ma’ asmihee shay’un fil ardi walaa fis – samaa’I wahuw as – samee’ ul – aleem.”((I shelter myself) with the name of Allaah, the One with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heaven. He is the Hearer, the Knower.)”[10]
4.3 Protection For Your Children
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (May Allaah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-Husain and say: "Your forefather (i.e. Abraham) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Ishmael and Isaac by reciting the following: “A‘oothu bi kalimaatillaahit- taammati min kulli shaytaanin wa haammatin wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah.”(I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allaah from every devil, poisonous pest and every harmful evil eye.)"[11]
5. The Evil EyeEnvy is one of the greatest evils among Allaah’s creation. It is what caused Satan to rebel against Allaah’s command. And it is what causes the people to make plots and inflict wars against each other. One of envy’s ugly manifestations is the evil eye. When envious people look at something that they admire, their look may cause an immediate harm or damage to that thing. Aboo Thar (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The evil eye sends a man into his grave, and a camel into the cooking pot.”[12]
5. 1 Curing The Evil Eye
1. Dua
'Aa'ishah (the wife of Allah's Apostle) (May Allaah be pleased with her) said: When Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) fell ill. Gabriel used to recite these verses:“Bismillahi yubreeka wa min kulli daa’in yashfeeka wa min sharri haasidin ithaa hasad wa sharri kulli thee ‘ayn.”(In the name of Allaah, may He make you well and may He cure you from every ill, from the evil of the jealous when they envy, and from the harm of the evil eye.)."[13]
2. Bath
In cases of suffering from the evil eye, the Prophet (peace be upon him) recommended taking a bath with water used by the source of the evil eye.
Ibn 'Abbaas (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: “The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take bath.”[14]
‘Aa’ishah (May Allaah be pleased with her) also said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to instruct the possessor of the evil eye to perform ablution (wudoo’) and then for the one suffering to bathe from its water.[15]
And It is Only Allah Who grants success. May Allah Exalt the mention of His slave and Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him), and render him, his household and companion safe from Evil.

BEST TIME TO MAKE DUA

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness.

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah
As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Best Times to Make Duaa.

There are certain times dua (supplication) is more likely to be accepted by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) as mentioned by Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam).
These times are as follows:

1. The Last Third Of The Night:-
Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'In the last third of every night our Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) (Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala)) descends to the lowermost heaven and says; "Who is calling Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking Me so that may I grant him? Who is seeking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?."' [Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith Qudsi] Amr ibn Absah narrated that the Prophet said: 'The closest any worshipper can be to His Lord is during the last part of the night, so if you can be amongst those who remember Allah at that time, then do so.'[at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i, al-Hakim - Sahih]

2. Late at night:-
When people are sleeping and busy with worldly pleasures Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) gives the believers an opportunity, or an answer hour if they can fight sleep and invoke Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) for whatever they need. The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'There is at night an hour, no Muslim happens to be asking Allah any matter of this world or the Hereafter, except that he will be given it, and this (occurs) every night.'[Muslim #757]

3. Between Adhan and Iqamah:-
Anas (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'A supplication made between the Adhan and Iqama is not rejected.' [Ahmad, abu Dawud #521, at-Tirmidhi #212, Sahih al-Jami #3408, an-Nasai and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (sound)]

4. An Hour On Friday:-
Narrated Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu): Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) talked about Friday and said: 'There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (prayer) and asks something from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), then Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) will definitely meet his demand.' And he (the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) pointed out the shortness of that particular time with his hands. [Sahih al-Bukhari] Some have said that this hour is from the time the Imam (prayer¢s leader) enters the mosque on Friday¢s prayer until the prayer is over (ie between the two khutbahs), whereas others have said that it is the last hour of the day (ie after the Asr prayer until the Maghrib prayer). (Note: when we say an hour here we do not mean the hour everyone knows (60 minutes) but an unspecified period of time because the time counters which we use today came after the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) had died.

5. While Drinking Zamzam Water:-
Jaber (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'Zamzam water is for what it is drunk for.' [Ahmad 3: 357 and Ibn Majah #3062] This means that when you drink Zamzam water you may ask Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) for anything you like to gain or benefit from this water such as healing from illness.... etc.

6. While Prostrating:-
Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam), said: 'The nearest a slave can be to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so invoke (supplicate) Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) much in it. [Muslim, abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i and others, Sahih al-Jami #1175] When a Muslim is in his Salat (prayer) he is facing Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and when he prostrates he is the nearest he can be to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) so it is best to invoke Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) at this time.It is said that while in prostration, one should not ask for worldy needs (ie a nice car, a new job, etc), but for the Hereafter.

7. When Waking Up at Night:-
Narrated Ubada Bin As-Samit that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'Whomever wakes up at night and says

Meaning:- (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) He is the only one who has no partners. His is the kingdom and all the praises are for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) All the glories are for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) is the most Great and there is neither might nor power except with Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and then says, Allahumma ighfir li (O Allah! Forgive me) or invokes Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala),
he will be responded to and if he makes ablution and performs Salat (prayer), his Salat (prayer) will be accepted. [Sahih al-Bukhari]

8. At The End Of The Obligatory Salat:-
Narrated Abu Omamah (radiAllahu anhu): that Allah¢s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) was asked, O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is heard (by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), he said the end of the night and at the end of the obligatory Salat (prayer) [at-Tirmidhi] This time is after saying 'At-tahyat' , and before making Tasleem (finishing prayer)

9. The Night Of 'Qadr' (Decree):-
This night is the greatest night of the year. This is the night which the almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) said about it, "The night of Al-Qadar (Decree) is better than a thousand months." [Surah al-Qadr, 97: 3] The Night of Decree is one of the odd nights of the last ten nights of the blessed month of Ramadan. The angels descend down to the earth, and the earth is overwhelmed with peace and serenity until the break of dawn and when he doors of Paradise are opened, the worshipper is encouraged to turn to Allah to ask for his needs for this world and the Hereafter.

to be continued....
